David obtained a degree at the University of Arizona
and continued his formal training at the Art Center College of Design
in Pasadena. One of his Grand Canyon paintings was reproduced in the
Arizona Highways magazine and later displayed in the special exhibition
of “A Backward Glance at Arizona Highways Illustrators” at the Phippen
Museum of Western Art (April, 2000). Though primarily an oil painter,
David has created several bronze works, one of which was reproduced in
the Southwest Art Magazine calendar. He was commissioned to create a
special edition Wildcat bronze for the University of Arizona and was
the featured artist in the University of Arizona Alumni Art Show in
2002. His work has been displayed in Phoenix city government and
corporate buildings nationally. His work is found in private
collections nationally and internationally, including those of Burt
Reynolds and Ann Miller. David has shown in one-man and multi-artist
shows and his artwork has been represented in fine galleries in
Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming and California.
David is a member of the Oil Painters of America and the International Guild of Realism. He enjoys and is active in his local art community and often leads art critiques for the Tempe Artists Guild and Scottsdale Artists League. He is a member of the Arizona Plein Air Painters Association. David was one of the featured artists in the 2004 American
Diabetes Association’s Celebrity Art Auction Gala, artistically
collaborating with Jonathan Elias, News Anchor of ABC-KNXV TV in
Phoenix, Arizona. In April of 2005, David was an honoree at the Best of
Scottsdale Art Show and Gala in Scottsdale, Arizona for his landscapes. David was the featured artist in the SkyWest Magazine (Delta and United Airlines, January and February issue, 2006) with an article entitled, “Cloud Interpreter,” and was included in the magazine’s cover story, “Arizona’s Art And Soul.” In September 2007, David was an invited artist to give a presentation at the Tlaquepaque State of the Art event in Sedona, Arizona. David was a featured artist in the October, 2007 Southwest Living issue of the Scottsdale Magazine in an article entitled, “Art and Soul: Artists of the Southwest.”
